Troy State University – 2 Scholarships

1.     Scholarships are administered and awarded through the Troy State University Foundation

2.     The 2 scholarships are

a.     Beach Optimist Endowed Scholarship – awarded to students pursuing a degree at a Panama City site

b.     Panama City Beach Optimist Club Leadership Endowed Scholarship – awarded to students from Bay County who are attending any campus location of Troy State University

Tom P. Haney Technical College – 2 Scholarships

            The Optimist club of the Beaches has funded two scholarships at Haney Technical College since the early 2020’s.  On 12 Jun 2024, the club presented School Director, Angela Reece and Finance Director Josie Bracy a $2,800 check to fund two $1,400 scholarships for the 2024/2025 academic year.  The scholarships are:

1.     The Optimist Club of the Beaches Ray ‘Vin’ Brandes Memorial Scholarship – preference will be given to students who show financial need and are pursuing studies in the Automotive Collision or Automotive Service Technology Programs

2.     Proposed name under consideration: The Optimist Club of the Beaches Harri Brax Memorial Scholarship – preference given to a recent High School Graduate.
